Your Guru for Health & Wellbeing
I’m a practicing Ayurvedic Doctor and Yoga Teacher. I was raised in a modern way, with a convent education; bred as a city girl, riding 250 cc motorbikes and watching superhero movies. While studying Indian Traditional Medicine, I learned Sanskrit, the oldest written language in the world, to study the ancient texts and journals. My Yoga training and practice of Bharatnatyam, a 4000 year old classical Indian dance helped my transition to the spiritual world of health and happiness. My patients and students from around the world have found my practice and teachings to be filled with ancient and traditional wisdom adapted in a modern way.
My Work
As a professional in my field, I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, some traditional and others outside the box. All of this has helped me become the person I am today.

Ayurvedic Medical Practice & Yoga
I got my Bachelors in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree from Maharastra University of Health Sciences, (MUHS), India in 2003 and my Post Grad Diploma in Yoga and Ayurveda from Tilak Maharastra Vidyapeeth in Pune, India, in 2008. In 2006, I did a graduate certificate course in Kerala Special Panchakarma Therapy and opened my first private clinic in Pune in 2012. Now, I physically practice out of clinics in Pune and Goa, do consultations and treatment plans online, have a company that makes Ayurvedic Proprietary Medicines and take online yoga classes for therapy. I specialise in treating Sports/Accident injuries of the human spine and leg, Infertility and Geriatric disorders. I have a very global patient base and continue to introduce Ayurveda and Yoga to students from all over the world. With a 99% efficacy rate in treating and healing my patients, the most complex cases get referred to me. The best way to find out if your case can also be referred, is to drop in an email to me with a short case history and then secure an appointment through this website.
I was trained in Yoga by Sunitha Parthasarthy, daughter of the renowned yoga guru, BKS Iyengar and continue to use yoga and dance for therapeutic purposes in healing my patients.

Indian Classical Dance Performances
I learnt Bharatnatyam from Kalakshetra Gharana under the guidance of my Guru, Swaroopa Utgi for 4 years and in Thanjavur Style under the guidance of my Guru, Durgalaxmi Rajan for 5 years. I have a Masters degree in Fine Arts, specialising in Bharatnatyam from Annamalai University, India. I choreograph and perform on interdisciplinary ideas of expression using classical dance. Some of my exciting performances have been in a Canadian Government-funded project, CleanCube, for raising awareness about the use of clean drinking water; in an international interdisciplinary festival, Story of Space, to express the need for human involvement in the conservation of the ecosystem and a classical rendition of a traditional song praising Goddess Durga, the ultimate feminine force, choreographed alongside Rock music as opposed to traditional classical composition in order to engage the younger generation in the art form. My performances are booked months in advance and could involve international travel. Please use the website to connect with me and book a performance.

Research
I have been a researcher in a Canadian Government funded project called CleanCube to understand how Ayurvedic herbs could help in creating low cost, low tech methods to purify water and make it potable.
For my Masters Degree in Fine Arts, I researched on the healing aspects of Bharatnatyam, an Indian Classical dance form, on the parameters of Yoga and Ayurveda. Connect with me if you would like to know about the findings.
I am currently researching evidence based efficacy of natural medicine on drug resistant microbes.

Social Work
My work in the social sector started with Kayakalpa, an Indian charity, which I joined as a Medical Officer. I helped them in their HIV and STI prevention program for the brothel based female sex workers in the red light area of Pune.
During this time I also got involved with Beyond Borders, a social enterprise based out of Mumbai. Now I am a part of the Beyond Borders Team looking after all their health interventions in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
I am passionate about women's health and the social issues that surround them in developing countries. I provide networking and leadership to a large number of global projects in this space.
